Friday Favorites I Glee

It's no secret that Glee has been one of the most popular shows since it's premiere in 2009. The creators pack each episode with drama, music, singing, and dancing. I mean what's not to love? The show tackles tons of social issues, bringing them to the surface and increasing public awareness.

As the series finale approaches I decided I was not ready to say goodbye to some of my favorite characters on television. So, I went back and watched the previous seasons on Netflix. And, let me tell you it was worth ever minute. I forgot how great the first season was. I mean no glee performance will ever top when they did Push it by Salt and Peppa in front of the whole school. I mean am I right or am I right? Since, the show is ending I thought I would share some of my favorite moments, songs, and episodes with you.

One of my favorite episodes is from season two called "Blame it on the Alcohol". This episode is hilarious and I could possibly watch it on repeat all day. The one liners in this episode are amazing.

Rachel throws a party in her basement with about six wine coolers and gives everyone drink tickets. Then Puck breaks into her Dad's liquor cabinet and the group gets drunk.
Finn explains the type of drunk girls to Rachel
They are hungover but have to perform at the school anti-alcohol assembly.
They take a shot before the performance
Brittany and Santana puke everywhere on the stage.
I couldn't possibly make a list of all my favorite songs because it would go on forever. Especially because any mash-up on this show is genius and I am obsessed with it. But, I am going to try and name some that I really love. And that you should put them all on your playlists.

"Don't Rain On My Parade"
(Just like Rachel Berry I am obsessed with Barbara Streisand. I know every word to "Funny Girl" and if I could sing this would be my dream role)

"Halo/Walking On Sunshine"
(As I said every mashup is amazing but there is something about this song that I just love)

"Home"
(This is one of my favorite songs. I loved the Glee version this season because it combined the veterans with the newbies)

"Smooth Criminal"
(If you don't like this epic battle between Santana and Sebastian I think you need to get your ears and eyes checked)

"Defying Gravity"
(I love when the cast does Broadway show tunes, and this is a classic)

"Push It"
(HILARIOUS)

"Valerie"
(Naya's voice and Brittany and Mike's Dancing...like do I need to say anymore)

"Loser Like Me"
(I love all the orginal songs on this show. My absolute favorite is Sanatana's "Trouty Mouth" song but I thought this song really sums up what the show is about.)

"Time After Time"
(I love Sam and Rachel together. They are so innately different but it just seems right)

"Don't Stop Believing"
(and finally what would a Glee song list be without their anthem)

I seriously could keep going but the reality is I don't have the time and this post is already getting insanely long. So instead of rambling on I am just going to post a bunch of the my favorite lines from a few cast memebers over the years.

Some great Sam Evans (my fav) moments:

 Santana:

Brittney S. Pierce:

ThrowBack Thursday I Vacation's All I've Ever Wanted

I have decided that when the temperature outside is feels like it is -9 degrees then I just shouldn't go outside. Actually, no one should. It should be illegal ! This morning walking to class the wind was causing my eyes to water. Literal tears were freezing on my face and there was nothing I could do.

Now that my weather rant is over we can get to todays Throwback Thursday. In honor of the below freezing temperatures I decided to post every old warm weather family vacation picture I could find. (Oh and one snow picture because heck I was an adorable child even in ski gear!)

When I was younger my dad sister and I would go on vacation with my aunt Eileen, uncle Joe, cousins and our family friends the Welde's. We traveled to Disney World, went camping in Ohio at Cedar point and Knoebels and even built with clay at Busch Gardens. Well if I am being honest I did more than build. I became one with the clay when I fell in it. It's safe to say that my Dad was not a happy camper that day.

Jaws ride right before we told Kate that there were no sharks on the ride
Sea Isle City is one of my absolute favorite places in the world. This picture is over 10 years old and we still spend at least a week there every summer. Also, I'm not sure why I look so dark in this picture. I mean I do get really tan and my sister did tell me I was adopted from the islands but I'm gonna go with there must have been a shadow.

Eating lunch in the Disney World Parking Lot ! And we all have bucket hats on with the pins we collected!

Ski trip with Daddy and Rachel!

What To Watch Wednesday I Eye Candy

Everyone has those shows that they don't like to or want to admit they watch. Watching bad television is one of my guilty pleasures. I am so entertained by the completely unrealistic plots. So naturally, I was super pumped when MTV premiered their new series Eye Candy this year. Don't get me wrong I love MTV shows. I am a complete Teen Wolf lover and who can resist this season of the Real World and the Challenge. Although at its start I was unsure about Eye Candy it quickly has become one of my must watch shows... and not as a guilty pleasure. I really enjoy watching the mystery unfold each week.

The show is an adaptation of R.L Stine's novel of the same name. To me when a book can be transformed onto film successfully then there is nothing better and Eye Candy does that.

The show follows Lindy (Victoria Justice), a computer genius that dropped out of MIT when her sister was kidnapped right in front of her. Now Lindy, a talented hacker, is working with the police to help solve cyber crimes. And mostly importantly find the "Flirtual" (their version of tinder) killer who has been stalking her and other women in NYC.

The rest of the cast includes Lindy's best friend and roommate Sophia (Kiersey Clemons), Sophia's best friend Connor (John Garet Stoker), and police officer Tommy Calligan (Casey Jon Deirdrick).

Each episode is packed with the series mystery, a weekly cyber crimes case, and some romance and comedy thrown in as well. Victoria Justice says Eye Candy "Is this very creepy game of cat and mouse."

The twisted thriller airs on Mondays at 10pm ET but you can get caught up on MTV's youtube page.

Here are some  gifs of the show to get you through the day:

Friday Favorites I Variety Pack

Happy Friday and Valentine's Day and 50 Shades of Grey Weekend. Read on below for some of my favorite finds this week.

Favorite recipe: Banana Sushi

If I had to rate the three meals of the day breakfast would 100% be my least favorite. But, in attempt to eat "the most important meal of the day" I went on a search for something simple but delicious. I came across this interesting DIY recipe on instagram. It is so easy and adds a nice twist to my favorite fruit: bananas. All you need is a tortilla, some kind of spread like peanut butter or nutella, and a banana. Spread your butter, place your banana, roll it, cut it, and you have yourself some breakfast sushi ! (here are some recipes)

Favorite Book: To all the Boys I Loved Before by Jenny Han

So. I may be in my 20's but I love young adult books. Jenny Han, the author of To All the Boys I've Loved Before, does an amazing job of captivating readers. You feel as though they are falling in love right along with the main character Lara Jean. I simply adored this book about first love and the journey of three sisters. Check it out, as well as Han's other series, The Summer I Turned Pretty (I read this whole trilogy in one weekend) !

Favorite New Trend: Negative Space Manicure

I love this new nail art trend. I've always really love nude nails with just a glossy top coat. Now I can add a little spunky design to that traditional look.

The best part is there are tons of nail art supplies that can help you get the best look. You can cut binder reinforcement stickers in half and use them to leave a half moon at the base of the nail. Or make all the lines and shapes you want with nail tape.

Favorite cold weather outfit inspirations:

I feel as though I have been transported to Antarctica with the weather we have been having on the East Coast. The high for this Sunday is going be 18 degrees. That just seems insane to me. Nevertheless, my family and I are going out to lunch/dinner to celebrate the February birthdays. I was scouring Pinterest for some outfit inspiration to stay warm and still look cute.
Here's what I found:

I love this look! Who knew an over sized sweater and Hunter boots could look so cute. I love the pop of purple color with the black and gray color scheme.

Long coats and above the knee boots seem like the best option for this cold weather. This look is a little bit more dressy and perfect for dinner. I love this outfit I would most likely add a scarf maybe some earmuffs. Oh, and button my coat !

Favorite Songs at the moment:

To finish off my favorites here are three songs I  have been loving lately. Give them  a listen because they are great...I promise !

Ella Henderson Ghost

Sheppard Geronimo

Maroon Five Sugar

Make It Monday I Easy Pizza Snacks

I can bet that at some time in your child hood and let's face it adult life you have said that pizza was your favorite food. I mean what is there not to worship with the gooey cheese, savory sauce, and crispy crust. Some people are pizza snobs and only eat at their favorite restaurants. Others take pizza anyway they can get it: frozen, fast food, gourmet, or homemade. Either way the worlds love for pizza is intense.

After reading Emily Tharp's pizza post (The New Pizza Shop on the Block) on herphilly.com I was seriously craving some pizza. Emily reviewed her first experience with a new pizza shop in Philadelphia called Kosmo's. She described the awesome internet ordering process and the delicious pizza she got. Her review had me ready to dial my favorite restaurants number until I realized it was one in the morning. Unfortunately, they were closed and I would not be in "pure pizza bliss" as Emily described her experience.

Probably for the best I went to bed that night without any pizza.  But in the morning, I still had pizza on my mind, thanks to Emily. That's when I realized I had almost all the ingredients in my house to make my own pizza !

Wait, don't stop reading! I know what you're thinking.

I'm not going to made homemade dough. While I love making homemade pizza with my family I know that is a long process and without a KitchenAid Mixer seems impossible.

Instead, today's Make It Monday project is easy DIY Pizza Snacks. They're cheap, low-calorie, and pretty tasty. These semi-homemade pizzas are the perfect for in-between class and work snacks and they won't put a dent in your wallet either.

Ingredients:

Pre-made Pizza Crust
You can find any brand you like at the grocery store. Mama Mary's Gourmet 7" Pizza Crust (3 pack) are only $2.50.

Tip: If you lightly brush on some olive oil and italian seasoning you can spruce up the crust.

Sauce
My family always makes our own gravy but you can buy any brand of sauce you like. Most jar sauce like Bertolli or Prego will do the trick.

Tip: The best part is either way, homemade or store bought, there will be enough sauce for multiple pizzas. This is great for saving money !

Cheese
You can use any cheese you have but I suggest shredded mozzarella. You can shred some yourself or buy a bag at the store.

Tip: I go with the low fat or fat free option to keep to make this snack a little healthier.

Toppings
The options are endless when adding toppings. You can throw anything you like from you fridge and make a new delicious creation.

Tip: Basil, onions, and sausage are just some of the basics I like to add.

From a late night snack to a party appetizer these personal sized pizza's can be great for just about anything. So instead of reaching for those expensive gourmet frozen pizza's at the food store remember that with a few ingredients you can whip up your own flavor masterpiece.

TIP: You can also use the store bought pizza crust if you are craving something sweet. Top the crust with some yogurt and cut up fruit and this dish just became fruit pizza dessert ! Check out Food Network for some more Dessert Pizza Recipes.

Let me know your favorite toppings or favorite pizza recipes in the comments. Also, go check out herphilly.com for some really awesome posts about Philadelphia !

Sports Crush Saturday I Tyler Seguin

Hockey is known for it's toughness. With shot blocking, sticks to the face, and the entertaining fights players are sure to lose a few teeth and gain a few scars. But, that isn't to say hockey is lacking in the crush worthy player category. With players from all over the world, including the United States, Canada, Russia, Sweden, Czechoslovakia, Finland, and many more, there is wide variety of hotness. As always my sports crushes have more than just skills in the looks department. In this case their "play" off the the rink matters just as much.

Tyler Seguin of the Dallas Stars, was drafted into the league at the ripe age of 18. Taken second overall in the 2010 draft by the Boston Bruins Seguin was traveling the country playing professional hockey while most kids his age were starting their freshman year at college. The left wing had to grow up quickly all while living over 8 hours away from his family in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

But, he was playing the game he loved in a city he grew to love. After remaining a healthy scratch in the first two rounds of the playoffs Seguin earned a spot in the third round. The Bruins went on to win the Stanley Cup and Seguin's alleged "party boy" persona was born. (he had a few social media blunders as well)

From there on out Seguin was criticized a lot for his lifestyle rather than his play on the ice. In his sophomore season the left wing lead the Bruins is scoring. A year later, Seguin's numbers decreased during the shortened season due to the 2012-13 lockout. Although the Bruins made it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs rumors circulated that Seguin's lack of scoring was due to nightly partying. (Some reports said he needed a security guard to babysit him).

That summer, on the fourth of July, Seguin was traded to the Dallas Stars. Many people including Tyler himself think the organization gave up on him too quickly. Since his trade, Tyler has made himself into an offensive force and moved back to his natural center forward position. Despite being young Tyler has persevered through it all.

Seguin, is flourishing in Dallas where he has developed great on and off ice chemistry with line mate Jamie Benn. He also created Seguin's Stars in honor of his friend who suffered a spinal cord injury. At every home game, Seguin donates a luxury box for individuals with spinal cord injuries. Seguin then has a meet and great with his guests after the game outside the Stars locker room where he takes pictures and signs autographs.

Tyler Seguin has not only improved his play but he has also matured in his new city. The 23 year old is a Stanley Cup Champion, 2 time all-star, and role model for young athletes.
Seguin's charisma, transformation, and pretty face make him this week's Sports Crush.

Top Reason's To Crush on Tyler Seguin

He loves his dog Marshall

He like jokes

He is a family guy

He has tattoos

Some pretty nice abs

He loves the holidays

He hangs out with Captain America (Chris Evans) and Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski

and has quite possibly the cutest smile ever.

Read Tyler's article with the Player's Tribune where the hockey stud gives his insight into his journey. And let me know below who your NHL crush is !
